Luxuriously padded large hammocks are manufactured by Designsmith at a small home factory in Kensington Johannesburg.
While being aware that there are options to produce a smaller and therefore cheaper version of a hammock, the owners of Designsmith choose to rather stick to Producing an exclusive and large luxury hammock.

The dimensions of the hammock are one and a half a meters wide by just over two and a half meters long.

The hammock style is that with two spreader poles at the ends to stop the hammock closing in on you.

The hammock could also be hung at an angle that would convert it into a two seater hammock “bench”

A large variety of different fabrics are available to choose from, and advice is given on the different choices.
For example if you are in a windy and dusty area you would be encouraged to choose a fabric that not only covers the worst of the dust but is easily washable.
Equally though you are welcome to choose a woven upholstery fabric to match the decor of your room or patio.
Designsmith encourages you to plan the hammock area early on if you are still building or renovating. Leaving the planning to the last minute very often puts the hammock in a bad position as it does require some space layout planning.
Some fabric choices can easily add as much as R3000 to the original price.
Currently a standard luxury padded large hammock in cotton twill is selling for R1600 00. Pricing excludes delivery.
Most common variations to the fabrics chosen do not add more than R450 00 to the price.

A Hammock stand could be designed but that would depend upon the style of the room or patio in question.
All hammock stands manufactured by Designsmith are extremely oversized and can be as long as five meters. Prices start from around R1300 – average at around R2800 and can jump depending upon the choice of wood or other details like wrought iron added into the design.
I will be blunt here and say that if price is likely to affect your choice then a good friend of mine makes a normal hammock stand.
